Journaling 30-day-trial, Day 4
February 2nd, 2008 by Bill Perry in Personal Development, journaling, 30-day-trialsI’ve noticed just over the past few days that ideas seem to come to me a bit more easily than before I started this trial. I’ve read on different sites and in different books that journaling does that because you set up a positive feedback loop. In a sense, it’s like you are “acknowledging” the ideas from the Image Stream more and more, so they become more and more obvious to you.
Here is Today’s entry from my Journal.

I’ve never been to college!
I’m sitting at work right now, and have been talking to one of the Technical Support Engineers. She’s been going over some of the “commonsense” information about college and how degree programs work. The conversation arose because I mentioned how I’d be ahead to get some college in during the days while I’m working here.I mentioned how I am interested in eventually getting into Hypnotherapy, and I was advised by a very credible Hypnotherapist that most Hypnotherapy training centers won’t even take you unless you’re at least ENROLLED in a Master’s program for the “helping” fields. Social work, psychology, etc.
So, I was wondering out loud if it’s possible to just sign up for a Master’s program from scratch and work on all the requirements at once, and she said that most of the time you have to already have earned the Bachelor’s to even apply for a Master’s program.
Then she mentioned that you can typically apply for a Master’s program, irregardless of what your Bachelor’s is in. So, I was thinking, I could do a Bachelor’s in Computer Science (which I think would be fascinating) or Linguistics (equally fascinating). Or, I could do both?
That would take lots more time/money, but my thinking here is that of the two primary founders of NLP, one was a linguist, the other a computer scientist/programmer.
What if I was BOTH? That would surely help me when I go to apply myself to learning the Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy stuff, right? I would also be better off understanding the stuff about NLP that I’ve not been able to teach myself up to this point, when I can actually go a real training/certification.
Speaking of NLP, the part of NLP that really interests me most is Modeling, since it’s the basis and backbone of the whole thing.
I’ve been reading through a borrowed copy of “Strategies of Genius” by Robert Dilts, and the stuff in there is mind-blowing. of all the chapters, the only one I’ve finished all the way through is the one on Walt Disney. Talk about GENIUS!
Well, it’s time to get some work done. lol
